Receptacle of carved ivory representing Urashima Taro as a fisherman, wearing an apron of rushes and with a straw hat at his knee, riding a minogame (hair tailed turtle) with movable legs. Both he and his saddle of leaves form a lift-off lid. 19th century, Japan. L 17.00 cm. H 9.50 cm. Acquired: Nice, France.
