Circular bronze mirror with handle, decorated with traditional scene in relief on the reverse depicting a minogame (hair tailed turtle) and two cranes beside water under a pine tree and bamboos. Inscription reads: Tsuda Satsuma no kami saku (= product of the Tsuda Satsuma atelier). 19th century, Japan. D 24.00 cm. Acquired: Nice, France.

Note. The Tsuda Satsuma atelier was active between 1800 and 1868.
